New York State’s Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (“EAP”) was created in 1987 by the NYS Omnibus Economic Development Act. Since its inception, the EAP initiative has helped entrepreneurs create new businesses and has provided in-depth assistance to minorities, women, dislocated workers and individuals with disabilities interested in starting a business.

The EAP establishes centers in local communities to provide instruction, training, technical assistance and support services to individuals who have recently started their own business or are interested in starting a business. The program’s EAP centers are strategically located throughout the State.

EAP assists new and aspiring entrepreneurs in developing basic business management skills, refining business concepts, devising early-stage marketing plans and preparation of action plans. In addition, the program actively assists EAP client efforts to obtain business financing. Two thirds of the centers operate or are formally affiliated with a micro-loan fund.

This is one of the centers who currently offers two different loan funds to all of its attendees. We offer the Minority and Women Owned Business loan fund, and the Mid-Hudson Valley Loan Fund.

The class schedule is subject to change due to weather, instructor’s re-schedules, and whatever else will cause us to change the schedule.

Tuition: $595 $297 (if registered by 9/7/2010) for 60 hours of classroom instruction.

You can pay in 3 monthly installments of $99 each.

Applefest began in 1989 as a simple harvest celebration to support the Warwick Valley Community Center.
Named one of the "Top 100 Events" in the country, over 35,000 visitors now attend the one-day event, traveling from neighboring states to experience the extraordinary variety of Warwick's apples, culture, and entertainment.

The Young Professionals of Orange County will host a special session on “Networking at OUR Speed”.

A happy hour with light refreshments and informal networking will begin at 5:30.

At around 6:15, “speed networking” will begin, with each participant having the opportunity to give a brief description of his or her business directly to the person sitting across the table from them. After each description is complete, everyone will rotate until everyone has been introduced to everyone else in the room. Mentors will also be available for some on-the-spot networking coaching.

Or perhaps you missed the workshops and want to get some hands-on training? If you still need help making sense of the social media world, join us for a Social Media Lab on Friday, October 22 from 8-11 am at the Chamber Business Center.

You will have the chance to practice, ask questions, and trouble shoot with instructors who are heavy social media users and can show you the ropes! Participants will be split up into different rooms based on level and/or social media platform (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Chamber site). Bring your laptop and all of your questions and concerns, and get ready to dive in!
